April Stars!

Now then my lovelies!

May already eh? Where is the time going?

I love May, May is my birthday month, and my wedding anniversary month and 2 of my step sons have birthdays this month too! So it’s always a pretty busy, not to mention expensive month!!

Anyway today’s post is about the products I used during April which I enjoyed using, felt they were worth your hard earned cash or that I simply loved!

So first up is

Right Guard Shower OIls

Right Guard Shower Oils

I’ve used this shower gel/oil from Right Guard for a while now. I have pretty dodgy skin which can be very sensitive and dry. Finding a shower gel that doesn’t dry my skin out or bring out my eczema can be a pain. I stumbled across this in Boots and as it was £1 at that time I decided to try it. Now I can’t be without it! It keeps my skin hydrated and doesn’t bring the eczema out on my arms and it will be in my holiday suitcase!  It’s definitely worth a try if you spot while you’re out shopping!

Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion

Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion

Aveeno has been my skin saviour during April. I still haven’t found the cause of a recent major eczema breakout. I’ve cut out milk, cut back on caffiene, and I started to take a Vitamin D supplement of Vitamin after a friend’s recommendation as well as using Aveeno to soothe and hydrate my skin and thankfully the eczema is going and the itchiness has gone too. Aveeno is my friend and I will always have a bottle of it in my stash from now on!

Palmer's Anti Aging Smoothing Lotion

Palmer’s Anti Aging Smoothing Lotion

Ahhhh good old Palmer’s, I love this body lotion and it’s one of my all time faves. I think I’ve probably featured it on the blog before as I’ve been using it for years. It contains AHA’s which helps to smooth your skin and get rid of any dryness. I take this on holiday to help get rid of any post beach dryness and it helps to take the sting out of sunburn too, or at least it does for me, that’s not a Palmer’s claim! I have also found that with continued use that it can prevent ingrowing hairs, that you can sometimes get from waxing and shaving. It does have a bit of a funny smell to it but it’s not a nasty smell. Honestly try it out and let me know what you think!

Beautiful Brunette Extra Moisturising Shampoo!

Beautiful Brunette Extra Moisturising Shampoo!

This for me is the surprise of April! I had seen a random tweet about this shampoo saying it was good, and if I’m honest I was kinda like ‘yeah right it’s a quid, it’s going to be rubbish’ I’m a bit of a shampoo snob really lol. Anyway I spotted this shampoo on a recent Poundland shopping trip, and thought why not try it, and I’m pleased I did, my hair is so lovely with this shampoo, it’s bouncy and shiny and just looks so healthy. My daughter used it and loved it as well so we’re both very impressed with this shampoo, and I’m eating my words!!

Essence The Gel Nail Polish

Essence The Gel Nail Polish

I’ve used Essence nail polish before and for the price it’s pretty good polish! This is £1.60 a bottle! It’s gives great coverage and the colours are bright and really ‘on trend’ (I hate that phrase so much!). I found they lasted a good 3-4 days on my nails. The polish even withstood a delivery shift at work, which is very impressive staying power. For the money you can buy all the colours and still not be that much out of pocket! Brilliant for the price!

Eyes Uncovered Collection

Eyes Uncovered by Collection

I love eyeshadow palettes. I have lots of them and I use an eyeshadow palette everyday. Most of my palettes are of neutral colours, mainly because I wear bright lipstick a lot and neutral shadows work best with a strong lip or at least I think so anyway! This Collection Palette is called Nude Bronze and it was £3.99. I’ve never used Collection eye products before and I have to say I’m impressed with this palette. The colours are really pigmented for a nude palette and I think they’ll look great with a tan!

That’s my April Stars, but I also have a Meh of The Month! This is something that promised big things and well just didn’t cut the mustard for me.  It’s Barry M Daylight Curing Nail Paint.

Barry M, Sunset Daylight Curing Nail Paint

Barry M, Sunset Daylight Curing Nail Paint

This seemed promising and like most people who love nail polish I was keen to try them out. So when they arrived at work I bought a set and tried it out. I’ve used Barry M Nail Paint for years now and I’ve always thought they were great polishes, they last well and the colours are fab.

Daylight Curing Nail Paint was a big disappointment for me. I have a pretty manual job, and I’m forever throwing boxes of stock around and opening cardboard boxes, my nails do go through a lot, but even with ‘normal’ polish I can get a good 2-3 days from a manicure. This polish didn’t even last a day, before it chipped and flaked. I followed the instructions of how to apply it and used the Daylight Curing Top Coat and nope it chipped within an hour of me being at work, and the teal colour in the picture, stained my nails!

It pains me to say it but Barry M Daylight Curing Nail Paint gets my Meh of the Month Award!

Have you tried any of the products from my April Stars? Let me know what you love or if there are any othr products you think I should try!

Lots of Love

Kaye xx
